Beers and Electronic Board Games

Bruce giving some advice to the groom-to-be on the porch.

Lynn and Alicia (Tia's mom and sister) gaving a good laugh, as Judson (sp?) and Biz look on. We played a lot of Catchphrase during our time there.

Below, Christine and Kristen try to get their arms around my gut.

Laura Hits the Bottle, and Other Photos

Laura smiles, and Bruce presents another priceless facial expression.

Bruce, the bride-to-be, and me.

I was telling Christine that she was squinting, and we took another picture, but Kristen thought I was talking to her... thus, you have the result below.

Friday Night at the Stone House

Tia's parents rented a house (The Stone House) on the grounds directly across from Inspiration Point (where the ceremony was held). It was a four-bedroom house with what I guess is called a sun porch, and it nicely contained most of our after-sunset activities during the weekend. Above, Steve and Tara relax in the corner of the room. Actually, Steve may not have been completely relaxed because he was trying to write his Best Man speech.

The little kids (Tia's nephews) really took to Bruce (and he to them, despite his constant less-than-sincere assertions that he "can't stand kids," which he always delivered with a shake of his head and a grin). It was amusing to watch.

A funny picture of Stine and Terry... Terry's face is utterly expressionless while Christine is rather more animated.

6/8/07 Continued

Friday was a little tough. I didn't crawl out of bed until roughly 1:30 after the festivities from the previous night. Laura took her camera and wandered around outside for a while before I dragged myself out and took some pictures with her. We hit the Lower Falls Restaurant for a meal and then I prepared for the rehearsal.

This was taken before we headed off for dinner. The park is really a beautiful area. It was the first time I had ever been, and I was initially surprised to learn that it was less than two hours away from Jamestown (although the directions aren't exactly easy to get there).

First Day at Letchworth - June 7, 2007

Kristen, Steve, and I at Al's Sub Shop in Castile, NY - just outside the park. We're pointing out the 'Big Al' on the menu.

Taken during the middle of our whiffle ball game.

I pitched fairly well early on, until the ball broke in half. After we taped it up, it was much tougher to control.

John Paul Jones at Bonnaroo Festival

(The website has a short video)

"Yesterday Rolling Stone sent a crack squad down to a massive cow pasture in Tennessee to soak up the sixth annual Bonnaroo Festival, which kicked off yesterday, but is just beginning to heat up. So far, The National and the Cold War Kids, and Kings of Leon have delivered intense sets to throngs of sweaty fans.

The highlight so far: This morning we sat down with Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, who kicked off Friday by joining the Nashville all-lady bluegrass group Uncle Earl and will play later tonight in the annual Super Jam alongside Ben Harper and Roots drummer ?uestlove. In true Bonnaroo fashion the trio has yet to rehearse. Said JPJ “I haven’t even met them yet.” Check back here every day for up-to-date Bonnaroo coverage."

Here's Ryan, Laura's cousin.

Ryan is trying very hard here to appear interested in the card as he waits to open his gift.
