Tuesday at the Anchor Inn in Lakewood, Thom, Matt, Turck, and I competed in a trivia contest with perhaps twelve other teams. The questions were read by a professional trivia master (which is to say a busboy with a laptop). The battle consisted of three rounds, with each round comprised of questions worth more than the last. Our team, Bye Week, was victorious by five points. It was pretty exciting because we climbed from far back in the pack over the course of the three rounds and many of the leaders fell away in the final round.
Curiously, most of the questions seem to have been made up in 1997 or thereabouts. The queries ranged in subject matter from music to movies to politics.
Our prize was a whopping fifteen dollar tab at the bar, which we used on four beers and a shot of Jack Daniels for Thom and I. I expect that we'll be back next Tuesday in an effort to defend our title.

I can't even imagine how pissed we would have been had we lost on that particular question.
