Toward the end of the Vietnam War, our country had a plan to shift more of the responsibility to the South Vietnamese and to let them take greater control of their own safety and security. It was called the Vietnamization of the war.
Obviously, there has been a significant push in our current war to have the Iraqis take greater responsibility for their safety and security and to lessen the reliance on American forces.
Let's take a look at one example of just how well that's working out.
